After not having a kid friendly coffee table in our living room for a long time, we finally got one!!
Yes, that’s right. It’s a train table! I’m guessing that is probably not what you were expecting to see.
Since we have had our daughter, we have gone through two coffee tables. This has all happened in less than two years!
The first coffee table had wheels on the bottom of it. When Julia first learned to walk, she loved to push the coffee table around the room. After a few weeks of that, we moved that coffee table to the basement.
The second coffee table was just a plain rectangle coffee table. We spend a lot of time in the living room playing with toys. That coffee table just ended up getting in the way, so we got rid of it. As a result, we had a big open area to play.
Now Julia is older and likes to play with trains, so we wanted to get a train table. We decided we might as well put it in the living room and use it as a coffee table instead of trying to find room for it somewhere else.
The top of the train table has two pieces that come off. One side has train track scenery on it and the other side is plain.
It’s nice that we can flip the top around and have a plain table if we want to.
There is also an area for storage under the table. There are four storage cubbies that can hold train tracks and other train accessories. You can see two of the storage cubbies in blue in the picture below.
We lucked out and got our train table from a Facebook sale group. I see them pop up all of the time on those groups. However, you have to be fast to respond because they seem to be a very popular item. It took me a few tries before I got one. But I finally did!
The train table we have is KidKraft brand. I don’t see our exact table on the KidKraft website anymore, but they have several other options to choose from. Our table looks most similar to the Super Highway Train Table listed on the website.
